  • Buffalo, NY

Hey ya'll this is going to be very short as I want to get to bed. We are at a hotel in Buffalo, New York.

After I last wrote that day we rode to Erie, PA, arriving after being drenched and it being very cool outside. We all took hot showers at the campground (which we were bothered to see cost money!). The next morning we got off after a rain delay and didn't get riding till at least 9:30AM (normal is 7) Some days that wouldn't matter that much but that day was to be a long one, 75 miles, and had a museum that we wanted to visit and of course all that takes time. We did somehow manange to do it, getting into camp after 7 PM and not having dinner till 8. Oh earlier in the day at a grocery store we met (behind us in line at the cashier) a guy traveling on bike from Conneticut to western Cananda! What a small world! We didn't travel together since he was headed west and we were going east.

Today we rode about 45 miles and visited a bicycle museum, well worth the time. We also got our first glimpses of Canada, across lake Erie. After leaving the bike museum we had dinner at a place with over 100 different flavors of milkshakes! Then we got rained on coming to the hotel but at least we didn't have to set up tents and try to keep everything dry etc... Of course Sharon and Hope really wanted to swim, so we all visited the pool for a while.

Tomorow we head into Canada! Niagra-on-the-lake is the town, we'll be with a Mennonite-your-way family (Mennonite who will open their home to travelers). Hopefully sometime soon I can take the time to tell you more details but sleep is required for riding.
